Portrait of a Graduate

This portrait will serve as our North Star for student achievement, best practices, and professional development.

Each year the district engages in a strategic planning process to set goals and evaluate our progress in critical areas of safety, facilities management, human resources, safety, teaching and learning, and technology. Collaboration has been the hallmark of our strategic planning over the past five years. Now, as we emerge from the throws of the COVID-19 Pandemic, we launched our first annual Teaching and Learning Summit, designed to more purposefully align our work to improve performance outcomes for every learner.

We have always been committed to decisions and actions that will prepare every learner with the knowledge, skills, and disposition needed to succeed. However, over the last six months, we have partnered with staff, learners, parents, and community members to articulate our Portrait of a Susquehanna Township Graduate and develop a blueprint with key actions to guide our work in accomplishing this vision.

Our team believes learners should arrive at school ready and excited about learning! Staff should come to school confident that they possess the training and resources to meet the needs of every learner. Families should send their learners to school, convinced that they will receive an education that will prepare and propel them for success in life. We are committed to seeing these statements become realities across the district.

Our Teaching and Learning Plan aligns our efforts focused on improving student achievement in reading and math, providing customized and purposeful training for our learning facilitators, proactively communicating student progress with our families, and supporting the whole child from preschool through graduation and beyond. The plan communicates our commitment to the success of every learner, and we look forward to engaging the entire HANNA community in this work.
